What is Amigurumi?

Amigurmi is the Japanese art of crocheting or knitting small, stuffed yarn creatures.  The word comes from the Japanese words ami meaning "crocheted or knitted," and nuigurumi meaning "stuffed doll."

Crochet is more commonly used than knitting, and single crochet is the most oft-preferred stitch.

Amigurumi can be people, animals, or inanimate objects.  Both the end product and the process of making amigurumi is rewarding.
